Dark Half is building the commercial production pipeline for AI-generated VFX and content. Under our current NRC-IRAP grant, we're developing an agentic, end-to-end production system that takes a script or prompt and produces a finished video — running entirely on local hardware.
This is a hands-on R&D engineering role for a recent grad or graduating student. You'll work directly under our Technical Director on the build-out of that pipeline, doing real engineering work on real production problems. You'll be writing Python, running open-weight video models on a Blackwell 6000, evaluating new models as they release, and helping us figure out what's actually possible at the frontier.
This role is for someone who wants to work at the intersection of film, television, and AI. The AI part is the day-to-day — Python, ComfyUI, model evaluation. If you're a strong engineer who's been hacking on generative video tools in your spare time because you find the medium genuinely interesting, you'll fit here.
